Can you customise menus to fit a theme?
Yes. Every menu starts with your occasion. Tell me the theme, whether that's a region, a colour, a favourite holiday or a dish that means something, and I'll build a sample menu around it. We refine it together, and I confirm the final seasonal version two weeks before the event.
Do you do canapé functions?
Yes. Canapés and grazing are available on request, either for a stand-up celebration or as a welcome before a seated meal. Send me your guest numbers and I'll put a quote together.
How much does it cost?
The base rate is $120 per person for three family-style shared courses, with a minimum of 8 guests.
Worked example
| 10 guests × $120 per person | $1,200 |
| Three shared courses, family style | Included |
| 20% deposit to hold the date | $240 |
| Balance | $960 |
Individually plated service and add-ons (extra courses, premium produce, table setting, drinks pairing, wait staff, photographer) are quoted on top.
Where do you cater?
Anywhere in Victoria. I'm based in Balaclava, in Melbourne's inner south-east, and happily travel to homes across the city and the regions. [Travel fee for regional bookings, if any.]
Is there a minimum number of guests?
Yes, the minimum is 8 guests for a seated lunch or dinner.
Can you cater for dietary needs?
Yes. Tell me about allergies, intolerances and preferences when you enquire, and the menu is built around them from the start. Please confirm them again when we finalise the menu.
Do you cook on weekdays?
Absolutely. Weekday lunches and weeknight dinners are very welcome, and they're often the easiest dates to secure.
What's the difference between family style and plated?
Family style means generous shared platters down the table for everyone to pass around. It's relaxed and social, and it's what the base rate covers. Plated means each guest gets an individually plated course, which feels more formal and costs more.
What do I need to have at home?
A working oven and stovetop, some fridge and bench space, a sink, and a table and chairs for your guests (unless you book table setting). The full list is in the terms.
How do I book?
Send an enquiry with your date, guest count, location, the kind of food you'd like and any dietary needs. Once we've agreed a sample menu, a 20% deposit holds the date.
